Elfpack Music Hall: Extra-cool and unusual people area!

A special place for all those who really couldn't hold with playing the boring old instruments that everybody plays, and decided to play something a little out of the norm :) Add yourself if you play, and everyone can use the comments to discuss Equipment, players, tips, material, gloat and boast about your own ability and discuss anything else you like, as long as it's related to an instrument that isn't in the other wikis. Also, if any instrument, or instrument type gets enough members I'll give them their own wiki page :)

2008-10-01 [Faith.Hope.Love]: Hmm.... I play the keyboards, but I wouldn't classify them as rare instruments. lol

2008-10-02 [phoenixborn]: Doesn't have to be rare, just something
that doesn't already have its own wiki lol as it happens I was going to set one up for keys as I figured there'd probably a lot of players *goes to set one up now*

2008-10-02 [phoenixborn]: New section added- "Time played". Just leave blank if you don't want to say or just can't be bothered :P

2008-10-02 [DeeJay™]: uhh.. i dont know how long i've had my decks O_o

2008-10-02 [phoenixborn]: *shrug* then leave it blank foo'! :P

2008-10-02 [DeeJay™]: haha
nah, i'll just say 3 years ^^

2008-10-02 [phoenixborn]: But you could be wrong! And then you'd be a liar! LYING TOAD!!!!

Nah, go ahead, that'l be fine XD

2008-10-02 [DeeJay™]: OMG! i lied! im going to hell!
..w00t! ];D
oh crap, that reminds me.. i gotta try to hook meh laptop up to my decks! :D

2008-10-02 [phoenixborn]: Ooh that gets me thinking- anyone know any decent programmes for recording/editing music on my PC? Obviously for recording music I'll need something to plug into my computer I expect

2008-10-02 [DeeJay™]: fruity loops, methinks. very confusing at first, but it's just like a sooped up version of 'music 2000', but with less samples
infact, i still got the link.. x]
http://www.torrentz.com/search?q=fruity+loops
(might need uTorrent first)

2008-10-03 [phoenixborn]: Thanks much, I shall check it out :)

2008-10-03 [DeeJay™]: there's a simple walk-through (think it's in the 'read me' file) on the 'mininova' one with the instructions on how to install/etc. seems to work perfectly, too ^^

2008-10-03 [The Incredible Bulk]: Gawd. Fruitloops are Yummy *Drools*

2008-10-07 [phoenixborn]: Very nice! I would love to play cello. Might even take it up some day :)

2008-10-07 [Eyes of the Reaper]: I might be doing a piano/cello/viola trio for a Roman funeral thing at school...

2008-10-07 [DeeJay™]: *resists the urge to mention the romans have been dead for thousands of years and should have been buried a while ago, since it might be an actual funeral, and my perverse comedy could seriously backfire* O.o
what exactly is a 'roman funeral'?

2008-10-07 [Eyes of the Reaper]: lol Careful! XD I'm the Sergeant-At-Arms of the Oklahoma Junior Classical League, a branch of the National Junior Classical League!

It's not a real funeral. In the text books, there are characters in the stories that we read and it's like a long novel across the four textbooks. Well, one of them, Cogidubnus (the 'king' of the Brittons during the reign of Domitian, just as powerful as Salvius, a Roman senator in Brittania, and Agricola, the governor of Brittania), died and the class decided this would be a perfect time to practice a Roman funeral over the course of several days. However, to keep it from being entirely accurate, a group of my friends decided to, as was custom, put on some entertainment during the banquet and they chose to do a piano/cello duet then invited me, the viola, to make it a trio. :)

2008-10-07 [DeeJay™]: the play souds terribly complicated for me to follow in a few short sentances, so i'll pretend i understood yet not ask anymore questions :]
so you play two parts, right? the viola in the trio, and..?

2008-10-07 [Eyes of the Reaper]: Oh no, I only play one part. Just the viola. I could sing in Latin but that would be scary because I would need a bunch of time to rehearse.

2008-10-07 [DeeJay™]: ah, i see
i thought you meant everyone was gonna do like, a group piece when you said 'the class decided.. (to) ..practise a roman funeral' x]

2008-10-07 [Eyes of the Reaper]: lol No, sorry.
