Demons have many goals in life but the one they want the most is to become the next Source of all evil and take over the Underworld.

Warlock

Warlocks are an evil race of magical beings that are ex-human witch analogs dedicated to evil as Charmed Universe witches are dedicated to good. Unlike in other occult mileaus, the term is not gender-specific and so refers to witches who have gone down the path of evil, rescinding their humanity after committing an irrevocable act of evil – where one of their selfish main goals are to expand their own powers by killing witches and stealing their powers.

An evil witch differs from a warlock in that they have not killed another witch to steal their powers, but rather use magic for personal gain and are willing to kill innocents instead of protecting them. Evil witches only become warlocks when they've killed good witches to steal their powers. When warlocks have children, the children will automatically be warlocks unless one of the child's parents is mortal, as evidenced by the character Brendan Rowe from the episode "When Bad Warlocks Turn Good" wherein Brendan Rowe is a half-warlock who is resolved to remain good and become a priest due to the fact that his mother was human.
The power to blink is analogous to demons' abilities to shimmer or white/darklighters to orb between planes and dimensions.

Darklighters & Whitelighters

Darklighters: One type of Darklighter is called Assassins, who strive to kill current Whitelighters to leave their charges vulnerable or to kill future Whitelighters before they can earn their wings.

Type 2 of Darklighter spreads evil through procreation, by seducing innocent mortal women and tricking them into bearing their progeny. It's against the rules to tell these women about who they truly are or fall in love with them.

A third type of Darklighter mentioned on the show is known as the "Spirit Killer", who drives paragons of good to suicide. They curse them with bad luck, following the victim around, invisible to everyone, including the victim. As the bad luck escalates and drives all thoughts of happiness from the victim's mind, the Darklighter is there every step of the way, whispering hopeless thoughts into the victim's ears. Once the victim is thoroughly depressed beyond recovery, the Darklighter changes his whispered words to encourage them to commit suicide. Whitelighters-to-be are particularly favorite targets of Spirit Killers; if the person commits suicide, it automatically disqualifies him/her from becoming a Whitelighter.

A fourth type of Darklighter is called a Tracker. A Tracker is a Darklighter who goes after Whitelighters who are about to lose their wings. Their orbing is more of a spiral than the particle of other Darklighters, and they are considered to be much more powerful than a regular Darklighter. They are rogue Darklighters who often only answer to themselves. They distinguish themselves from other types of Darklighters by wearing tribal tattoos on their face.

Whitelighters: Whitelighters are the "guardian angels" of witches and future Whitelighters. Mortal charges are not know or seen to have much interaction with their whitelighters. They watch over their charges and intervene when necessary to help them along their path and keep them safe; they can also be called by their charges. They can constantly hear the lives of their charges in their heads, and if one of them calls their Whitelighter's name, he/she can usually show up at a moment's notice.

Whitelighters are people who were previously somehow connected to the magical world or who were generally good people that had died. They are given the choice to become Whitelighters and given the powers of a Whitelighter (such as orbing, healing, immortality, glamouring etc.) instead of moving on to the afterlife. Their bodies are replicas of their former human bodies, but are composed of orbs which are described as white lights (hence the term Whitelighter) that have a healing sense to them. If struck by a power that would usually kill a mortal (for example, an energy ball or particle acceleration), their bodies will explode into orbs then reform relatively unharmed; they can, however, be knocked unconscious. Because their orbs make their bodies immortal, the only sure way to kill a Whitelighter is to poison them with a Darklighter arrows.

Witches

Witches in the Charmed universe are nearly always good characters aiding the battle for goodness and arrayed as the field forces on the pointy end opposing evil and evil beings. Witches frequently come into their active powers fairly young if they are powerful hereditary witches, and since such powers are coveted by evil power-stealing beings (several types of Demons or Warlocks harvest such children if they are unprotected) it is not uncommon that a protective relative, coven leader, or whitelighter arranges for their powers to be bound until they are old enough to both use them responsibly but also can survive the likely inevitable attacks. WITCHES DO NOT USE THERE POWERS FOR PERSONAL AGAIN!

The Hollow

The Hollow: Is an ancient vapor and the most powerful force of unknown origin which absorbs all forms of magic it comes in contact with, whether it be good or evil. It appears in a swarm of vapor-like particles floating in mid-air that constitutes a power similar to a black hole, and it can also reside inside a magical living being, thus possessing their corporeal form. It cannot be destroyed by any known means, rather it can only be contained when powerful representatives from both sides of good and evil join forces. It actually possesses no mind or personality but rather acts like a virus in a vacuum, mindlessly consuming all magic it touches. It is kept in an ancient burial ground and is heavily guarded by powerful representatives of both sides. It has been said that this is the "ultimate power" that will be the end of good and evil, therefore creating a void as a reality. The Hollow's only desire is to absorb power. Anyone possessed by the Hollow will only be able to control it for a short time. They will gradually fall victim to its insatiable hunger for more power. In their quest for more power, anyone possessed by it will ultimately destroy all magic.
The Hollow also appears to exist outside of space and time; every time it is released it changes the future. [please note that the hollow can not turn into a really person.]

Elders

The Elders are a fictional group of people who oversee good magic. Originally, they were referred to as "The Founders",but all subsequent episodes use the term "Elders".
Elders mainly keep track of witches, watching from the Heavens. They communicate with those on Earth through their helpers and messengers, the Whitelighters. The Elders decide who may become a Whitelighter, and give and take their powers. A Whitelighter's ability to heal is channeled directly from the Elders.
It appears that most of the Elders were Whitelighters themselves at one time. Though some were probably witches because Kevin, a teenage witch, was promoted to be an Elder. Leo Wyatt is promoted to the rank of Elder after saving the Charmed Ones and the remaining Elders from the wrath of the Titans.
Though Whitelighters are not allowed to kill, the Elders have powerful fighting abilities. For the most part, the Elders' powers are only shown on screen when Leo is promoted to the rank of Elder. Leo is seen using a lightning-like power to kill Gideon.
When witches need advice on demons they know nothing about, they can ask the Elders by sending their Whitelighter. The Elders are not all knowing, however; in some cases, they know no more than the Witches do.The Elders do not allow witches or any other magical being besides themselves and Whitelighters to enter the Heavens. Even the Charmed Ones do not have this privilege, as Piper and Leo have to ask for an audience when they seek permission to have a relationship.
