A short, stubby Ninja, he and his teammates, Shigure and Midare, confront Gaara and his team in the Forest of Death. Not much is known about him, except that he also carries several umbrellas on his back and what appears to be an oxygen tank. Gaara uses Sabaku Kyū (The Coffin of Crushing Sand literally "Desert Coffin") followed by Sabaku Sōsō (Imploding Sand Funeral literally "Desert Graveyard") to kill him and his two teammates.

Trivia

'Baiu' means 'rainy season' in Japanese, an obvious testament to his village.
