This page explains how to make a wiki-page view protected and private.

In the wiki-page creation/editing page, you will see the following:

Editable and viewable by whom?

You have a choice of:

- Freely editable
- Editable by forum members only
- Editable by owner only
- Viewable by forum members only
- Viewable by forum members only & editable by owner only

Privacy

If you would like to keep your wiki private (i.e. so only certain members can view the wiki) you either need to set a password for viewing on the wiki, or set up a forum. (See forum guide for creating forums)

If you want to set a password for viewing, type your chosen password in the box labelled Optional: Password needed for editing and/or Optional: Password needed for viewing

If you set a password in both boxes the password will be required for both viewing and editing the page. If you set a password in only one box the page will be either viewable or editable respectively depending on which option you chose.)

If you would rather set up a forum and control who can see or edit the wiki that way then choose “Only forum members can view” in the drop down box if you only want forum members to see the wiki and choose “Forum members can edit” in the other drop down box if you want everyone in the forum to be able to edit the page. For restricted editing rights, either set a page-editing password or set the page so only the owner can edit it.

2011-09-09 [Stephen]: Yay! :D

It's looking good. =)

2011-09-09 [AuroraLumos]: Thanks, I'll let you officialise it and prettify it shall I? :)

2011-09-10 [Stephen]: I have editing rights set to only you, for now. I touched up the page a little, for example I removed the note about forgetting passwords because Elfpack automatically saves passwords once you edit a page and input the password.

If you can think of anything, feel free to add more information to the page. The more descriptive it is, the less likely someone is to be confused. ;)

2011-09-10 [AuroraLumos]: Shall do, it's a start at least :)

2011-09-10 [Stephen]: =D
