Under the Table and Dreaming is the first studio album and major label debut for the Dave Matthews Band. It was released on 27 September 1994. The album's name comes from a line in the 4th single, "Ants Marching". Four other singles were released from the album ("What Would You Say", "Jimi Thing", "Typical Situation" and "Satellite").

The album is dedicated to Dave's sister Anne, who was killed by her husband in a murder-suicide.

Notes

Perennial live favorite "Granny" was recorded for the album and was originally the first single before being cut.

"#34" is completely instrumental on the album, though it had been performed with lyrics prior.
