Since then, she has been coping with their death, with her brother's addiction to drugs and her aunt Jenna's attempts to take care of her and Jeremy. History- He has a tattoo of a rose on his right shoulder.Stefan is a vampire who was turned by Katherine in 1864. He tries to survive on animal blood, but is now back to human blood. But Elena inspires him with guilt and her charm to turn back and be good again.

Personality- His personality is pretty much the polar opposite of his brother, as he comes across as quite arrogant at times. He is said to possess sociopathic tendencies, being absolutely charming one minute and extremely dangerous the next, showing no remorse for the killings he has committed. He enjoys toying with people and causing grief to those around him, most of all Stefan and unlike his brother, he is very, very powerful and usually gets what he wants. It's possible that he learned to behave this way from Katherine.

However, as the episodes play out we see that what Damon is really longing for is acceptance, which is something he never really saw during his years as a human. After he threatens to turn Elena in 'Children of the Damned', he refers to her as 'our girlfriend' in front of Stefan, which is a possible indication that he has some type of feelings for her.

History-Damon is approximately 170 years old and originally from Mystic Falls. It seems to have been a while since his last visit to the town. Damon Salvatore's father, Giuseppe, was always disapproving of his eldest son and was a vampire hunter.

Damon began hating his brother after Stefan talked about having sympathy for vampires with his father and Giuseppe realized Katherine must be a vampire. When Katherine drank Stefan's vervain-laced blood (after Giuseppe spiked Stefan's drink), she was captured by the townspeople. Damon blamed Stefan and never forgave him for it until Stefan told him he needed his help rescuing Elena after she was kidnapped by Anna.

Damon is of Italian descent.

Personality- The loss of his parents has affected him deeply, and he copes with his grief by getting drunk and taking drugs. However, after Vicki is staked by Stefan, Elena asks Damon to erase his memory so he can forget about what he witnessed. This completely changes his personality as he no longer deals in drugs and does his homework. Damon tells Elena that all he did was take away Jeremy's suffering.
History- Jeremy is the daughter of Grayson Gilbert and Miranda Sommers-Gilbert, and the younger brother of JElina Gilbert. His parents were killed in a car crash.

He has had a lot of training as a vampire and has a ring enchanted but it has been deactivated because of his incarceration. He was captured by his friend who he confided in to help him but betrayed him. His short time in the military has given him a permit to carry a weapon. He carrys a .45 with chrome rounds and an extended clip. He was released from the undercroft by an unsuspecting human who wasn't sure where they were. Jericho drained their life instantly having been starved for so long. He sometimes is seen with Damon and his group.
