This is a page about the Eurovision Song Contest. Its offical home-page is www.eurovision
OK, so you're not from Europe, Israel or something like that? Well, the Eurovision is like a combination of the Oscar's Awards, a little singing and the Napoleon wars. Get the idea? The important thing is winning, but it's also important who is losing. Last year Finland with Lordi won (http://www.you

2007-05-13 [Hedda]: In Sweden there is an outcry about that the ESC is badly designed because neighbouring countries are voting for each other yada-yada.
I think they should focus on stopping to be assholes who say that everything new and good in the Eurovision is crap. We've heard a lot of new and interesting stuff this year, and I'm so not looking forward to hear yet another Abba-copy again! Even horribly boring ballads are better, if there aren't too many of them.
2007-05-13 [black velvet]: oh that same 'out cry' is going on here to. aswell as the big 'political' thing..its only because uk are not winning
2007-05-14 [Papa Don't Preach]: i know. but no wonder. we choose what goes in, and if they UK choose the crappy song to go in, no wonder we lose so its our own fault
2007-05-14 [Hedda]: I think the biggest problem in Scandinavia, Netherlands and in UK-Ireland is that there is a perception that to enter Eurovision you have to play boring standard pop-music.
Germany and France failed miserably, but at least they tried to do something different.
I guess that in a few years the Yugoslavian music that sounds fresh and exotic to us now, will feel oldish and boring. Bosnia's ballad didn't even make it to the top 10 now, because it's nothing new anymore. The same goes for the Irish ballad that also is too oldish.
I hope and I think we'll see more extreme things next year.
2007-05-14 [Papa Don't Preach]: i liked lordi. from the other year, that was great
2007-05-14 [black velvet]: well put it this way..ireland and uk cant get any worse
2007-05-14 [Hedda]: [black velvet]: Don't worry! They will find a way to do it!
Next year UK will send a quiet nerd pretending to play metal, and Ireland will send Johnny Logan singing an even slower song hopelessly out of date...
2007-05-14 [black velvet]: Hehe knowing our luck, they probably will!!
hahahhahaha! i cant wait to see if your right!
2007-05-14 [Papa Don't Preach]: me too

2008-03-06 [black velvet]: ..drinking game?
2008-03-06 [Hedda]: Drinking game? What are you referring to?
2008-03-06 [Hedda]: I'm working on a new version of this page for this year, by the way. It should be somewhat ready this weekend.
