ESC Finland 2008

Finland is starting as #16 in the First semifinal. Finland has never done well in the Eurovision Song Contest until they sent some monsters (Lordi, Hardrock Hallelujah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdItwaLrv1U) to Greece and dragged the contest back to Helsinki. The contest was never the same after that.

Heavy Metal, but in Finnish. Or should I say, luckily in Finnish, because the lyrics are horrible... "Where men ride", go figure! But bang your head and fist in the air, this rocks!

Back to Eurovision Song Contest 2008

2008-05-17 [Hedda]: The more I hear this, the more I realize that it's losing on not being in English. The heavy metal context is lost, and it's almost impossible to sing along or even remember the song due to the Finnish lyrics.

The Finnish may sound cool, but that's just the first impression and unfortunately it doesn't stay, unless you learn how to pronounce Finnish (learning what the lyrics mean is quite pointless though).
